The BEST is OFF the Highway!

What a statement!

But it is true - if you are heading down to or through Pemberton if you don't stop you will miss our most amazing iconic experiences, attractions and memories!

View from Lake YeagarupDeparting daily at 9am or 2pm a Beach & Forest Eco Adventure will take you through the heart of the old growth Karri Forest, stopping at Lake Yeagarup and then onto a desert in the middle of the forest.

The Yeagarup dunes are amazing and certainly a bonus experience to the visitor.

Through the dunes we travel through the coastal heath - which during September/October put on a magnificent display of wildflowers.

From here we head to the beach and the mouth of the Warren River.

All in all a 75km return journey discovering the historical and natural attractions in the area. Book direct for best prices and availability.

Warren National Park

A 4hr drive south of Perth will bring you in to the heart of Karri country, the home of the Karri tree 'Eucalyptus diversicolor', one of the largest trees found on the planet and today protected for the natural environment and future generations to appreciate.

Pemberton is a diverse destination of old growth forest, rivers, mobile dune systems, to isolated stretches of coast line and along with all of this; ample amounts of activity for that next adventure...

Whats coming up in March?

* Pemberton Classic - February 27th - March 1st long weekend - www.pembertonclassic.org.au .

* The 4th annual CLEAN UP YEAGARUP is held on Sunday 7th March departing from the Pemberton Discovery Shop at 2pm - if you have your own 4WD you are welcome to meet at Lake Yeagarup at 2.30 for registration and job duties :o)

Don't panic - it is a great family outing spoilt by rubbish which you must grab, and stuff into the orange bags provided. After an hour or three (normally two) we empty the bags out and count how many bottles, cans and nappies have been collected (believe it or not people do throw these out of the car window - GROSS (free gloves provided)) - and then after we clean our hands we enjoy a gourmet feast provided by our local Donnelly District DEC officers (sausage sizzle)

Registration is welcome - it lets us know how many sausages DEC have to produce and if people need lifts. Email Wendy c/o This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

* Earth Hour is again Upon Us - 8.30 Saturday, 27 March 2010 - so do your bit and turn the TV, ipod and all electrical devices off for one hour - step outside and look at the stars, go for a walk with the family - chill out with a fishing rod along the banks of a river - but don't turn the power on... Registration is entirely voluntary but well worth the experience.

Did you know - Last Earth Hour provided enough electricity to power lots of things (sorry trying to find facts - but I know a lot of power was saved!) for a year! www.earthhour.org

*We will have our school holiday program available shortly - you can check out our Sept/Oct hols version (posting new one shortly) (PG 1 PG 2 )

* Mark the Saturday 1st May into your diary now - book your accommodation - and come on down to Pemberton to the 2010 Pemberton Autumn Festival - WOW - it will be a great day out for all the family, friends, inlaws and outlaws!
