This unique 40 hectare property is surrounded by state forest with a kilometre of the Donnelly River forming one border. The main lake is 5 acres in size and flows through 3 other lakes on the property forming a permanent water system for 7 months of the year.

The chalets which are either one, two or three bedroom are superbly appointed with all the little extras. All that is suggested to be brought is immediate food needs (though with prior arrangement this may be catered for), good walking shoes, binoculars for bird watching, your good book, CD’s and lots of film for the camera to capture those memorable moments.

As a member of ”Land for wild life” we are preserving the natural beauty for future generations. We have in place a comprehensive walk trail with 25 stations and can take an hour and a half to complete. The guide explains not only the flora and fauna on the property but points out historical points of interest and allows guests to use their imagination.
Over the second lake on the property is an interpretive bird watching hide with table and chairs , a speaicl place for guests to either enjoy the birds through a “nature’s window” which is cut amongst the branches of the second lake or just sit and meditate in solitude... one of many places to do so.

The 80 variety of birds seen on the property have been documented and compiled into lists and placed in the compendiums in the chalets. If guests are interested they may wish to check off the birds which they have seen during their stay in the month they are here. This is the seventh year this list has been compiled and we are gradually getting a profile of the migratory pattern of birds seen here.
Donnelly Lakes is the ideal destination for visitors to explore the Nannup, Margaret River, Augusta, tree top walk, Pemberton and Manjimup regions on leisurely day trips. There is a kangaroo-watching hide or guests may wish to borrow the spot light to go out by themselves in the evening to look at the mobs of kangaroos which congregate on the property from late in the afternoon to early morning.
The main lake a pretty setting and has 4 jetties and a gazebo with fairy lights around it. It is stocked with “plate sized” trout for guests to catch and keep or release if desired. Fishing access to the river is excellent and at one point on our border we have the junction of the Barlee Brook with the Donnelly River which is a great fishing hole. The orienteering course on the property also allows guests to discover a different aspect of the property to the walk trail.

The other side of our business which we keep secretive are the surprises found on the property. The aim being to “bring the child out” in our guests by putting in place some unexpected and interesting revelations within the property to put a smile on their face at every turn! The aim here also is to encourage communication... so in many ways we are a health farm with a difference. We dont want to spoil our surprises so you will just have to come and see them for yourselves!

Our motto is ...come to where time stops so we do suggest to guests to remove their watches to allow “time to stop” even for a short time!
